GPS Colour Graphics Automates Management Information

COLCHESTER, UK, July24, 2009  - GPS Colour Graphics, Ltd, of Belfast, Ireland, is replacing their management information system infrastructure with Prism’s WIN 2009 MIS. Most available MIS solutions were too rigid for GPS’s specific work flows so the configurability of WIN 2009 was just what GPS needed. As an award winning printer, GPS Colour Graphics has developed an approach to fulfilling customer requirements that meets demanding quality standards, unique creative levels, and all while maintaining a strong commitment to the environment. Prism WIN will conform to GPS, not the other way around.

“GPS has used a couple of off the shelf MIS solutions over recent years, but they simply were not flexible enough for our needs,” said Ian McCurry, Managing Director of GPS. “The more I learned about WIN’s style sheets, action scripts, and overall configurability, the more I understood that this was the right solution for GPS.”
Prism WIN is a highly configurable, modular MIS with advanced connectivity through its Prism WIN Connect Module (PWC.) GPS will be using PWC to integrate WIN into it’s overall information technology infrastructure.

GPS is also taking advantage of Prism’s QTMS Lean production management system to automatically capture shop floor transactions directly from GPS’s press, folders and stitcher. QTMS ensures highly accurate counts by job and pallet while allowing operators to concentrate on simply running the equipment.

“The opportunity to automate data capture on the shop floor was very important to GPS,” said Robin Cook, sales manager for Prism. “QTMS will allow operators to concentrate on job throughput instead of data capture.” Cook continued, “I’m looking forward to a very successful implementation and another long term Prism customer.”
