TSO orders a 60 user Prism WIN MIS
TSO (The Stationery Office), the largest publisher in the UK by volume, publishing over 8,000 titles a year, has placed an order for a 60 user Prism WIN Management Information System. TSO specialises in the creation, production and distribution of information in print, online and in electronic formats.
TSO provides information management and publishing solutions to the public and private sectors. They help organisations to transform the way they communicate with internal and external audiences.
Privatised from HMSO in 1996, they were acquired in 2007 by Williams Lea, the global Corporate Information Solutions provider.
Terry Bailey, TSO Operations Director explains the decision to go with Prism, “We needed a highly configurable MIS to handle the differing requirements of government print, commercial work & the digital requirements of a Williams Lea operation. We don't fit an off the shelf MIS and needed interface configuration for these various production workflows. Direct Machine Interface was also on our operational wish list as some of our shop floor equipment is not JDF enabled. Of crucial strategic importance to Williams Lea was the open architecture of Prism and its ability to bi-directionally interface to a number of 3rd party systems across the group as we look to automate order management and our supply chain.”
Robin Cook, Prism UK Sales Manager, welcomes the opportunity to work with TSO, “We are delighted to have such a professional and reputable new customer. Their requirements were far from standard but confirm our belief that if process automation, total cost capture and real time visibility of data are key considerations, then Prism is particularly suited to those requirements. We live in a world where back office efficiencies must be found and an automated MIS is a cornerstone of that ethos.”
